Congrats Professor Yawson

October 16, 2024. "Thanks to you all, Seniors. I am thankful to the Lord and glad to inform you that I have been promoted to the rank of Professor." (D Yawson)

Amen, Amen, Alleluia!

Professor David Yawson is the youngest of our AU-Bim, a group of African colleagues (former and present) teaching at Cave Hill. The Ghanaian colleague is the present Director of CERMES (Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies). His ascension has been dazzling if one knows how long it takes to become a Professor in the system of the University of the West Indies. From Lecturer to Senior Lecturer, then to Professor, the way can be hard, frustrating and discouraging if you are not perseverant or professional. Some colleagues never reach this demanding rank. Now that the University Appointments Committee has promoted him, he has to chose his title as Professor. From now on he will be reporting to the Vice Chancellor or the University Headquarters in Jamaica for all matters pertaining to his further appointments. AU-Bim welcomes you Prof David Yawson to the Club. Well done Prof.
