June 3. I would like to congratulate Ms. Margaret Gill on her successful PhD Oral, which took place yesterday at the Graduate Studies Building. Many colleagues of LLL, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, and from other cercles of her network, attended the event. The title of her thesis was: Leadership and Transformation in the Novels of George Lamming. Prof Curwen Best supervised her. Prof Barrymore Bogues of Brown University, Usa, was the external examiner; and Dr Geraldine Skeete, of UWI St Augustine, Trinidad, was the internal examiner. I chaired the Viva. We started with a delay of almost thirty minutes because of technical problems to join Prof Bogues on Zoom. Everything went well after.
Margaret can be presented as a poet, an activist, an pan-africanist and a scholar. Congrats again!
