I prefer to write this short article in English because the inspiration came after I discussed with a colleague on this topic. It started with politics, the greed of politicians across the world. We tried to understand how things work across the world and came to the conclusion that mechanisms are the same despite some local differences. They all claim to run for the sake of the population, but they serve themselves and their dear ones before anyone else. The extent varies from one country to another. How can one explain to appoint only his own daughter, son, brother/sister-in-law, or any other relatives in the national office as if it were a family enterprise. Although they publicly claim no to nepotism, no to tribalism, no to conflict of interest, they are not ashamed to act against their own political statements. Politics as shown by some fellows is just a series of lies. The reality is that there is a huge discrepancy between what they solemnly declare and what they practically do. Nobody believes in political statements. All is about money: What is there for me? What can I earn in terms of money and wealth? This selfish and unethical desire to accumulate money, power and luxury, is what justifies the present rush to political office. In my native province 135 people are running for 4 national MP positions. If one carefully looks at the profile of the candidates, one notices there are many veterans who are in the arena since over 50 years beside newcomers who are running for the first time. One sees cases where the fathers put their own son or daughter or son-in-law as their co-runners or substitutes if elected MP. All this is about money. Unfortunately, "the love of money is the root of all evil" according to Apostle St Paul.
They pretend to serve the country, but in reality, they only serve themselves. Some MPs disappear from their electoral constituencies, as soon as they get elected, to reappear during the upcoming election. Even if people do not re-elect them, they manage to keep their seats by using Plan B. Don't please ask me what Plan B is. One thing is sure: the outcome never reflects the vote of the people. It is all about money, nothing else. Money, money, money. Very unfortunate. The Love of Money is the Root of all Evil.
