Congratulations Prof. Andrew Haruna

Warmest Congratulations to an old friend, Professor Andrew Haruna, on his appointment by President Buhari as Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Goshua, Yobe State, Nigeria. May the Lord bless him and his family.

I worked with Andrew at the Institute for Asian and African Studies, Humboldt University, Berlin between 1999 and 2001. He taught "Hausa Language." We used to spend a lot of time together, sharing our academic and life experiences. I remember, he used to call his family in Nigeria every day for just one minute at the same time before the children left for school. And we had the immense pleasure to meet his wife shortly before we came to Barbados. I am really proud of this appointment, which constitutes an outstanding achievement. Clavère and I will  keep him and his family in our prayers. Well done, dear Andrew.
