UWI: Launch of the Faculty of Culture, Creative and Performing Arts

1 August 2020. Emancipation Day for the Nations and the Peoples of the Caribbean. Today took place the launch of the newest faculty of Cave Hill Campus: The Faculty of Culture, Creative and Performing Arts (FCCPA). A milestone in the life of the University of the West Indies. What a great event! Speakers to outline the importance of this new faculty were: PVC Prof Barriteau, Principal of Cave Hill, VC Sir Hilary Beckles,  The Most Hon. Mia A. Mottley PM of Barbados, and Prof. David Akombo, the Dean of the FCCPA. The ceremony was hosted by UWI TV. Very well done. From now on Cave Hill has a space rather a school and an intellectual anchor where culture and creative arts will be academic topics of study, research and degrees. By launching this faculty the UWI realizes its mission to serve the Caribbean and contribute to knowledge in various areas of human creativity and activity. Long life and success to the FCCPA.
